Im new to the forum, and am somewhat of a novice in the home audio world although i have had a lot of experience in 12V audio.

i just purchased a Yamaha rxv-765 7.2 receiver and i have a very old set of incredible Mcintosh speakers which are about 4 ft tall, they have a 10" Woofer, a 12" woofer that has no magnet (first time ive ever seen this, it just resonates from the other speaker) and a mid and tweeter.

I am trying to find a reasonably priced (under $250) center chanel speaker to add to this system that will hopefully mesh well with the Mcintosh speakers.

any help would be appreciated.

That "speaker with no magnet" is called a "passive radiatior".

It sounds like you have XR-1051's or XR-1052's (http://www.roger-russell.com/speakers2.htm) Construction of these speakers ended in 1991, so it's unlikely that there's a specifically matched center to them.

You might luck out with an HT-1 center. Or you could try phantoming and see how that sounds. Otherwise I think you may have to play it by ear, so to speak.
