I believe JA is very business-oriented, in addition to his various technical skills, and he says what he feels he has to say to support the Stereophile business that has made him rich. He has written, for example, multiple times, that there are audible differences between well-designed cables, even chiding those who don't believe it. I don't believe JA believes it. Over the years I have learned to identify and appreciate when he's writing what he really thinks, and learned to ignore what I'm reasonably sure are just amens and hallelujahs in church, for the congregation.
