Harmon Kardon output?

Hello once again folks,

A short while back I had a little extra money to spend and thought I would upgrate my receiver, after some research and help from you folks I decided to get the HK 7300, Now that plan is gone up in smoke with the price of oil and a wife who thinks a wood burner is more important, I must rethink my necessities and go with a more wallet friendly Receiver."Darn".
Anyway I'm looking at the HK635 at 75 Watts per and was wondering how it compares to say the Yamaha 2500/2600 or the Denon 3805/3806.
HK people seem to think that the 75 Watts per, that the HK puts out is as good or better than the 100 Watts put out by others. Is this true and do you think I might be happy with the HK?
