This is my home theater speaker setup.....
2 Large Floorstanding KLH speakers frnt lft /rht - $200.00
1 Klipsch Center Speaker - $350.00
2 rear lft/rht BOSE acustimass + module - $399.00
total ___________
$950.00
Now this is on speakers alone, not including wires, cables, etc..

since i didnt know that your suppose to buy all your speakers from the same company.......... they dont sound very good. when i watch tv, the sound comes bascially only from my center speaker, front left/right have very little sound. now im kinda pissed, i spent so much money on my speakers and they sound horrible, should i go and buy a new receiver? or just upgrade sum speakers? i mean i have Kilpsch and Bose......... arent they one of the best?

i saw this add at Frys Electronics, there selling Harmon/Kardon 7.1 Speakers + a receiver for only 1599.00!! is that a good price for these speakers?

heres the link

rak I'm pretty sure that when you watch TV most of the sound SHOULD come from the center channel as it's mainly dialog and probably not broadcast in 7.1 surround. Get yourself a DVD with great surround and see if that doesn't help you evaluate your system a bit better.

And of course wait for those who know more than you and I to post some better info.

Get rid of all your speakers except the Klipsch, and buy the same models that match the center - they must be the same line (ie, not Synergy and Reference). The HK speakers in that ad are not very good speakers. No receiver will mesh your current speakers correctly. You must timber match all three front speakers for tonal balance. Never mix and match the fronts and center, and never buy Bose products under any circumstances.

well i just use my BOSE acustimass speakers for rear surround sound so not much sound comes out from them. my klipsch speaker (center) cost me around 400.00 so i think i'll just keep the rear speakers (BOSE) and center channel (klipsch) and get 2 large floorstanding klipsch front left and right speakers........ what do you think?

I've heard that Bose set speakers crossover and frequency to play with bose subs as one unit:eek: . As for surround speakers maybe? Otherwise follow instructions of the last post.:p

Upgrade options

What is the model of your Klipsch center channel? For that money, hopefully it is from the reference series. Pick up the matching floor or bookshelf speakers at a local dealer.

For receivers, check out models from Yamaha, Denon, and Pioneer in your price range.

For subs, check out SVS and HSU.
