Although the AVR435 will give you the "honest" power rating they specify for all channel driven (they do specify a bit more for 2 channel), the Pioneer will still give you more power even after you discount it for true "all channel driven" condition. The AVR435 has a fan that could be audible at times. It has great sound quality but make sure you match it with reasonably efficient speakers, say 89 dB or higher.
