Harman Kardon or Onkyo?

I am trying to configure these components but am having trouble with the HK IN/OUT OSD plus interface with the Hitachi - knowledgable input appreciated: The I/O OSD of the HK is confusing as Hell. Input 3(in) input 4 (in) and/or (out) gives me unknowable ulcers. i am unsure of these consequences.

If you're using Component Video, HK units without video scalers cannot display OSD over component.

The only HK units that can display OSD over component are the AVR635 and the AVR7300.
