I've owned this receiver for about a year now, and have been very satisfied with its performance. About a month ago, I moved into a new apartment and got all of my stereo equipment set up.

One thing I did differently this time was I actually plugged some things into the switched power availible on the back of the unit. I had an equalizer and a cd player powered thru the dpr, everything powered up and worked beautifully for several hours of audio enjoyment.

Suddenly as I went to turn the stereo off (it was bed time) after pushing the power button, I heard a sort of *pop* noise inside of one of the components, I think it was the receiver. I did not see any smoke or smell anything unusual, but ever since then, my receiver won't power up.

What happens is I turn it on, it stays on for about four seconds and then shuts off on it own.

So far I've tried unplugging all of the cables, but nothing has changed.

I even removed the cover and did some BASIC troubleshooting such as checking the fuses, but that was all fine - totally normal.

Does anyone have any idea what could have caused this problem?

Is there anything I can try to fix it without paying a professional shop to look at it?
