At first i wanted just a 2.1 setup..but i have been thinking i may want to expand that in the future..so what do you guys think of the avr140?

It's a nice entry level unit for $300 (street price), but you may consider a 7.1 with a bit more power depending on the spl of your speakers.

I would keep an eye on this one, and see if it goes much higher than the 140.

AVR 235 new for $299

AVR 235 new is available for $299 at CircuitCity..after MIR.
Buy it from the website and pick up at store to avoid shipping charge..You have to pay the applicable local tax though...
I paid almost the same amount(including shipping) to buy a refurb avr235 from hk's ebay store last week.. I hope it is as good as the new one..
