Hey guys I have a question about receivers in general, and more specifically my HK 7300. After watching a movie and playing games for a few hours at decent levels it gets kinda hot. The only thing is I am not sure how hot is normal. I have it under my sony tv stand with the top shelf as high as it goes and the HK on the bottom. It has a lot of space on the sides (about half a foot, and about 4-5 inches on the top. I also took the back of the stand off for more air flow. How hot is the receiver supposed to get, and how much air flow is suffecient? Thanks guys

It will get very hot. Just make sure you have ventilation on all sides. It sounds like you do, so that shouldnt be a problem. If it is a concern to you, put a small P.C. type fan on the top of it. I have mine blowing directly on the heat sinks. those small fans are very quiet and create a lot of air movement for their size. that should be enough.

K thanks for your reply. Makes me feel a lot better. When I put my hand on the top it isnt really that hot, and when I put my hand on the side it is not hot at all. So I think I am going to leave it where it is. THanks again
