Hello ! Would anyone tell me how could I connect this receiver to my tv so any sound that comes from the tv would come through the speakers connected to the receiver ?I am a complete novice and I just bought it second hand from one guy and I connected the speakers kenwood ls 1000 and everything is ok except the part that I don't seem to understand how to connect it to the tv,at the moment I can get the sound from my dvd/bluray player with rca cables nothing else is connected I have never used any other cables in my life so I don't know how to connect it properly and it doesn't have hdmi(receiver) everything else I have is connected to the tv via hdmi cables(Xbox360,cable box and dvd/bluray player).

Can you show/post pics of the way you have it setup? You might have to go to your TV's setting on audio and see what it says. Can you plug headphones to the TV to see if you get sound?

I was just about to tell you video 2. :) Try looking at the adjustment on the audio settings on the TV and see if you hear a difference.

Changing the settings on the tv using video1 from receiver didnt change anything, does it mean the video 1 output is broken? One more question what is the yellow output for next to the left and right audio output on the back of the receiver, does it show something on the tv screen through it and what kind of cable do I need for it?

No its a video input won't work unless you have a DVD player hooked up. Just the red and white is hooked up to receiver then plug to TV input. Is the volume very low? What is the volume on the receiver is it half way?

Ya the volume is very low I maxed it from the tv(50) and from the receiver(+5 is the max volume on it) and I could barely hear anything from the speakers, just a really low volume came out like whispering, also I wanted to ask can I connect it to the tv via the coaxial cable from the receiver to the back of the tv and what would be the difference between connecting it like that vs how I have connected it right now ?

Give it a try, but not sure your TV has one. I could not get a close look of your TV outputs. Can you post a closeup pic of the back of the TV? I had my TV hooked up Optical, but your receiver does not have it. Wait turn both your Headphones and volume in settings turn it all the way up!

One is from the tv and one is from the receiver they both have coax labeled on them,I didnt have the time to reconnect to video 1 today I will try it tommorrow to change the volume in the tv menu as I cant remember if I was so stupid that I didnt change the volume there xD but would it make any difference if I would connect it with coax or the way I have it connected right now?

Yep try it. It should work. Make sure you turn the volume up 90% on both Headphone/Volume on TV settings.

A Passive subwoofer does not have an amplifier and cannot be used with that receiver without adding an amp. What sub did you get?

Can I convert this kind of sub to active and how would I do it?
