Harman Kardon audio output problems

I have an new avr 3650 receiver. I am using the aux input with my XM sat. Radio system Lynx just updated. The signal strength is great and consistent. The audio output is thru a 6-channel speaker selector. I have six Yamaha NS IW 470 120 watt speakers. All new 14 gauge wire.

Now the problem: The sound from the xm unit is good. I listened to it on my headphones. The sound from the speakers goes high to low and is cutting out at times. What can I adjust to help with the audio to be consistent?
Thanks in advance.

EZ set isn't going to work for a distributed system, which would seem to be what the OP is saying with a speaker selector.

OP - How does it sound with just one pair of speakers? Can you connect a pair directly to the receiver?

No, I did not use the mic set up. I have not tried with just one speaker, but I will do that next. How
do you use the mic set up?

I have not tired the one speaker yet. I am assuming that the ohms are off on my set up.
I know just enough to get my self in trouble...which I probably did. It is in an office setting.
I connected my Iphone to the aux input and it was GREAT. no variable volume.

What speaker selector did you use? You probably need an impedance matching one like this:
Niles Audio Corporation

I would use a stereo receiver for this application as well, not a multichannel one, unless HDMI is required.

I switche the surround to "virtual" and it solved the problem!!!

Thanks for your help!!
