Dear all,
After many weeks of looking into things, and thanks to the useful advice of many here, I have finally a working new system that sounds great.
- The center piece is a Denon AVR-4306 outputting sound to 2 B&W 804s towers through a Rotel RB-1090 power amp. I thought I'd need a sub, but the combination of the Rotel and B&W isn't too bad in terms of bass. The sound is overall incredible to my beginners's hears, from SACD Mozart's Night Music to Portishead, through latin jazz and Bad Religion punk rock,
- The digital sources are a Denon DVD-3910 player and a Buffalo Linkstation home server. The DVD player is connected for sound through Denon Link, and for images through HDMI. The Linkstation is connected to the ethernet port through a hub. I have been storing .wav files on it that I ripped with Media Monkey from my CDs,
- The projector is a Panasonic 900 720p connected to the AVR with a 10 m HDMI cable from Panasonic.
Thanks again for your help on this and see you in 50 years for the next upgrade.
Cheers,
Bernard
