I'll be getting drunk cheering for the U.S, but once theyre out.. I'm out...

I look forward to the world cup . I enjoy watching as many games as possible from all countries. It is a joy to watch in high definition. My teams are the Netherlands and Germany but if they are not playing I go for the underdog. Canada unfortuntely did not qualify.

One good thing for sure with respect to the WC...Bars are open for business @ 10am and business is apparenly booming around here. Yea, I like to see the US advance but they're in a tough grouping but you just never know. As for my cheering interest since Canada is not involved will be geared towards Greece...

I'm for the US and Brasil. It's a shame they are on so dang early though.

I also wish this country would take soccer seriously instead of it being a bunch of parents using their kids as pawns in their own little head games.

A more exciting sport to watch than baseball and golf. I love the fact there are no commercials. Refreshing to say the least. What I don't like is all the complaining and diving by some of the players.

Baseball is more of a strategy/suspense thing with bits of excitement sprinkled here and there. (thinking mans sport)

I love watching baseball. The NL has strategy involved, the AL not so much. Golf on the other hand sucks. ... Oh yeah football rules and I am not referring to soccer !!!

I didn't read a single post here, because I am on self inflicted media shutdown for today. My brother is throwing a big BBQ bash tomorrow, both games from today being recorded, with 5 games in a row to be played tomorrow. If you respond to this, I won't see it.

There is an ugly side to that sport and for competing teams or countries even supposed friendly matches get out of hand or violent and this hatred is often carried over. Having watched a documentary on violence & soccer you should have seen the crap that happens when the Croates play the Serbs or the Dutch played the English..and they call it the beautiful game...makes you wonder.

I actually just tried to watch the USA-England game for 15 minutes and I cant take it. The fans constantly blowing those horns is too annoying. Do they ever stop????

It wouldn't suprise me if they end up banning the horns in the stadium. The Germans looked very good today. Looking forward to the Dutch and Italians playing tomorrow.
