I hope that you and yours have a great holiday!

(I got a shower liner today to use as a rear projection screen over my front window, and I plan to project this onto it on a loop tomorrow night. I just checked it out, and it actually looks pretty darn good. Now, I just need to get to the store to pick up a few bags of protection candy for the teenagers roaming around tomorrow night... :D)

that picture is disturbing, lol...

We had 2 trik or treaters tonite, 20 lbs of candy and 2 kids, both at the same time, so I have them 5 lbs of candy each, we shut the lights in 12 minutes and 10lbs of candy left... but it is raining here so no kids really out, plus there was some bs on the news and radio about canceling halloween because of safety issues, what a crock of sh!t.... School busses aren't safe and we throw the little devils on there 5 days a week 9 months a year..

good job with the pumpkin J, very nice, looks just like the picture...

Three kids so far. The projector looks cool...but the noise even in the other room is annoying. Guess I won't be using it for movies. :D

I only got five bags of candy, but I bet it's more than enough.

Quite a run...six more kids.

And the guy next door just brought me a huge slab of chocolate cake because he wanted to get rid of it so he doesn't eat it. I don't want it either (not with all the candy here already), but I didn't want to be rude.

Total of 4 kids here all night, but my buddies son wasn't feeling good enough to go out so I said I will bring him some candy tomorrow, otherwise I will eat it all, my kids have a ton of candy, they wen't out for a little while with some friends, but they aren't big on candy, so it will just sit here for ever...

I guess its another one of these nights now....

I put two glow sticks by the sidewalk to light up a step so that no one trips. A group of kids just showed up, and one of them was holding a glow stick. I asked if it was the one from the road, and the dad said it was...but I honestly don't know if he understood me when I tried to explain why it was there. I'd be more bothered except that guy has been the only person all night to mention the picture in the window, and he said it was cool, so he gets a free pass. :)

Okay, I'm done. The nice family from down the street showed up with their four young kids, and after giving each a handful, I told them that they were my last group for the night and they could have as much as they wanted. Some kids were too young to realize what was happening, but the oldest girl (probably about five) jammed her hand in and started shoveling candy into her bucket. :D The parents were cool and took one, and that did it for me. Pizza time. :)

I had a total of maybe thirty kids and six to eight teenagers through the evening, started at 6 oclock done by 9 30 all in all more kids than I thought but not as many as previous years. I dont know what is happening these days but halloween is nothing like it used to be, I guess its all about the safety concerns parents are having that has changed this tradition. I carved up six jack o lanterns in record speed no designs no drawing, just free hand on the fly the first treaters showed up while I was holding my drywall saw with pumpkin guts all over my hands and a Pumpkin Head Beer sitting on the table, very peculiar site indeed.

Sawz, you just gave me an idea. I should have mini beverage bottles to pass out...to the adults walking around with their kids. Plus, I wouldn't mind having those leftovers. :D

I've noticed a lot fewer kids here, too. We use to get a LOT of kids, but they seemed mostly to be kids that were getting bused in. No joke - school buses. Now that my neighborhood is no longer "new" and on the outskirts, maybe they're hitting up the newer neighborhoods instead. That, and when I walked poked outside from time to time, there were hardly any lights on. Like, about six houses, and I know that two of those people weren't home. Now, I only hand out candy every other year, so I'm not judging - just saying that there wasn't much to entice the kids to come here.

Two guys told me they have adult options in their neighborhood. One said they have one family who has a jello shooter table separate from the kids candy table. He said it kind of encourages the parents to go out with the kids instead of just turning them loose. Interesting concept...not entirely sound, but it works for me :)

Did the other adult option involve a chocolate syrup and whipped cream covered Slip 'n Slide? :D If so, someone stole my idea for a home renovation.

Mmmm, jello shooters. Yeah, I gotta up my game. We all know that Halloween is just an excuse for women to dress slutty, but I've never seen one in my neighborhood. I think that the allure of alcohol might just fix that. Well, and a whole lot of advertising...

In my "old" neighborhood we got literally hundreds of kids, but the houses were kind of close {1 acres lots}, and they were dense so lots of houses in a small walking distance, plus they were all nice houses {$700K median} and out of say 30 houses maybe 2 didn't decorate and give out candy, my neighbor two houses down used to give out a pale and shovel to each kid with at least 5 full sized candy bars, they did 100 of them a year, it was an impressive site, their entire porch filled with bucket of candy.. My wife buys the big bulk candy assortments and lets the kids take as much as they want, she has a huge black plastic pot she fills {in the old neighborhood she would buy 50lbs, now she did 20 and it was way too much...} all night we didnt get 10 kids, lol, thats one of the downfalls of living in the woods...

+1 on the slutty dressing women on halloween, my office manager came in with a nurses outfit on, and lets just say it didn't look new, she definitely pulled it out of her closet, lol..

I enjoy handing out candy too, but in my current location we get zero kids (apartment). Our house is a bit in the boonies (all 10+ acre lots, 5 of the adjacent ones to us are empty) so kids don't exactly go door to door. I don't think even jello shooters will get people to come by :)

It was delicious. I had sushi the night before as well :D

I of course am the one with the two rolls. I finished both of them before my girlfriend even came close to finishing hers :D I had already eaten some of my sushi, some of the yam tempura, and 2 of the gyoza before she took the above photo.

My daughter and her best friend wore homemade "minion" costumes. Both us dads went along with them - at a distance, of course. It was unreal! Little kids screamed with delight at seeing minions and older kids wanted photos taken with them. I expected to see more minion costumes, our girls had the only ones.
