I watched this with my daughter the other night and I was quite surprised by its entertainment value. I think the music is what saved this film.

I bought it, but haven't watched it yet. I also have the original version, and it is great. I have always thought that Travolta is underrated, and he does comedy especially well.

High Def Digest gave this a very good review. I liked the original.

I was quite disappointed, even with my muted expectations. John Travolta just didn't to it for me. He was so flat and painfully in drag that he reminded me of those old WW II movies where soldiers dress up like women to raise morale. Lest we forget, the monarch of all drag queens, Divine, originated the role and nobody else has come close. Harvey Fierstein could do a decent job (he did it on Broadway for a while) but instead, we got John Travolta. I was also disappointed that the other subplot (the integration of Twisted Acres, a stand in for Gwynn Oak in Baltimore) was dropped from the plot.

I really enjoyed this film, lots of fun and some great music , as a huge added bonus it looked awesome on BR and sounded even better and i only get the core.
