I have just wall mounted my flat screen tv with the PDR articulating mount and the PDR in wall box. Looks beautiful I might add. I have always had things hooked up in a non-organized manner but would greatly like to clean up the connections. I am planning on running the wires in the wall and know I need CL rated wires, but still have a few questions;
1. I am planning on using 14/2 (41 strand) CL2 speaker wire for my surround speakers. I am open to any suggestions and was wondering if the strand count had any effect on functionality. I have seen the 14/2 speaker wire in single, 41 and 105 strands (with the 105 strand being more expensive).
2. What what would be the best way to wire my sub woofer?
3. Input on in-wall component, audio and HDMI cables as to quality, durability and type. I have heard that the gold fitting cables last longer and are less likely to corrode.
Just a side note I am planning on using wall plates and boxes as my studs are currently exposed as the result of my tv mount installation. Unless there are better alternative methods.
Any suggestions as to alternative wiring methods would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mike
