I own a Harmon Kardon DVD22 and when im playing dvd's my osd menu has a info tab in which it gives me some information about the dvd im playing for eg. - dvd code, disc type ,audio format etc
The interesting thing is i live in india <Asia>, here the companies that make dvd's dont think quality is an issue cos most of the indian movie dvd's the scan type on the dvd says "interlaced", while my player is set on to progressive.I do get some hollywood movies which are region 1 dvd's the disc's scan type it says progressive and its excellent quality .
When i play these interlaced disc on p.scan without changing it to interlaced they do seem really dark some times <especially since im using a projector>,but as i put the players scan type to interlaced the quality of the picture goes down a little
What i want to know is wether to put it to interlaced for interlaced discs n p.scan for progressive discs , is that the way to deal with this ??
