Saw this in the Fry's ad in Portland, OR.

The Harmon Kardon DPR-2005 for $499. This thing retailed for $1799 at one point. I have no personal experince or knowloedge of this recieiver just thought it was a great deal. Here are the specs.

PS: The Polk R50's are back at $139.99 a pair as well.

power ratings are a bit skewed .15% thd, but it looks like one heck of a deal. I was at circuit city wanting to check out the 7300 and they had to look it up on their special Harmon Website for dealers I think the dpr-2005 COST them like $1200 just to order with out any markup for selling it retail

That's an outstanding price on that unit. It's a digital receiver and never gets hot. It uses similar technology as a subwoofer with a class D amp. Distortion is rated higher, but it's not audible, and from what I've read, does put out some outstanding power. Harman Kardon still recommends the AVR7300 over this unit, but at it's pricepoint, it's hard to beat. I'd do a DPR2005 search on this unit before committing. It may have had some QC issues. I did consider this unit before buying the Denon 3805. I didn't see enough positives about the unit, and was not thrilled to hear HK's comments on it. At $499, that changes everything.
