After much of reading of people's reviews on different A/V receivers i seem to incline to buy H/K 7200, it is offered for $894 at Techtronics.com.. It is not a new model...so the question is:

What does it NOT doing in terms of surround sound modes and other useful staff..

I have PSB Century 800i series speakers and i just moved to a loft conversion condo with a huge open space living room...I have Samsung DLP 50' TV and Samsung 841 DVD... any advice?

For $894, nothing can beat this thing. It does not do PL2X but it has logic 7. It may not have THX certification. It even does HDCD whether you care or not. Just make sure you have room for it to keep cool. If I remember correctly, the AVR7200 is among the few HK models that do not have a fan. I have the impression that HK units are typically heavy because of the power supply and they probably use a fan to avoid the need of bigger (therefore heavier) heat sinks for the amp section. I think it is a plus though, fans are usually audible when it operates.

Go for it!

The only minus I can think of is I don't think it does video upconversion if that's important to you. The Logic 7 is terrific and could easily replace anything lost with no DPLIIx. I have two friends with this receiver and it sounds terrific with plenty of power to drive the most demanding speakers. It's an excellent choice in this price range. Good luck!

Why you prefer NAD T763 to H/K 7200? Can you comment?

I was only posting another option. I do not have the specs on the H/K. I figured you did & would be able to determine if the NAD better suited your needs. NAD is superb equipment, as is H/K. Also, Yawa is an internet approved dealer for NAD. You get a full two year warranty.

Like the others have already commented, it's a fine receiver and probably unmatched at that price. The only thing I would suggest is too look around a bit on the net, I thought these units were clearing out for about $799 at some dealers several months ago so you might be able to beet that price with a little searching.

Regardless, $894 is still a great price for the receiver.
