H/K 520 or Pioneer 1015tx

I just picked up a perfect avr 520, though i'm somewhat impressed with the dynamics, i'm unimpressed with a lack of EQ. The tonal controls dont fit my needs. Looking at what else may fit my bill i'm considering the Pioneer 1015tx. I've read the post on the model, many saying it's the 52tx without elite badging. I generally buy used off ebay or what ever other steel of deal i can swipe off the net, so listoning before i buy isnt really an option in most cases. I've got some great Hybrid Plannars with deliver clean crisp imaging, but tend to be a bit overwhelming on the mids. I need a regular Eq rather than tonal to compliment my needs.
Though I do like the dymanics of the HK, unlike my other previous recievers, it tends to lack the sonic presence i've come use to. For instance, it sounds good, powerful, and dynamic within my sweet spot, but living in a large loft, the fidelity and sound deteriorates dramaticly once i walk outside the stereo area, other recievers lost some sonic presence ofcourse, but would still fill and sound good through the home. I'm not impressed with HK on this.
Power for power, how much percentage (a close guess) would you say the 1015tx would be compared to the h/k. You probobly know the 1015tx is rated at 120 wpc, and the h/k 75. I know watts isnt watts, and the H/k is probobly louder, but generally by how much would any of you guess. And are theyre any other suggestions on newer (past 2 years) recievers with high power, Multi-band eq, and low impedence drive would you recommend. I like warm, but even a bright can sound nice with a few eq adjustments. Thanks guy.
And do you think this would be an "honorable" trade, an hk down to this pioneer??

i see them online for 350, (the 1015) but havnt really searched hard yet. Cant find a used one on ebay. I payed 180 for the HK on ebay, I stole it, i see them end right now above 300. So i'm figuring i can sell and buy at no cost if i go new, and actually keep cash if i can find used. What would you be looking for yours???? I'll be listing the HK this weekend so it will end next.
Since your a 1015 owner, let me ask you this. Heres my problem. I got a great steel on these Monsoon FPF series speakers (Maggie design, Martin Logan look), all 4, all new. (company went under and liquidated, got thier 3000 dollar speaks (all 4) for under 600 total). As a carpenter, I dont have the funds for thousands worth of seperates to really drive these well. They seem to be a tad bit overwhelming in the mids, since they were originally designed for HT. (the fpf-1500 _which i cant find for sale anywhere_were more geared for audiophile music) Originally I had an old school (early 90's) flagship JVC reciever, with 7 band eq. It really handled these very well, and they produced the best bass response i've ever heard, fully resonating my entire home. Playing around with the biamping option, i fried the JVC, which needed updating anyways ya know. At the time in emergency, i picked up an 80 dollar Pioneer d412, (ebay, 330 list at time) just for temp. Wasnt at all happy with it, it didnt produce the resonance or vibrance the old JVC did. It didnt sound bad, but I think an EQ would of helped suit my needs better. So i made it a priority a month ago to get a high end reciever. Watching ebay for weeks, and getting frustrated at the lack of deals (i'm a fanatic and am renoun for unbelievable deal finds), i originally wanted Dennon, but sufficed with HK because of the reviews and final price I got on it.
Upon recieving the HK, i was fairly impressed with the power and dynamics, but upon going through all the tweaking, I found that I really cannot stand the sound of it it produced with my speakers, complete lack of octive curve customization and lack of sonic presence outside the soundstage. Even the cheapo reciever filled my loft with sonic presence and sounded good throughout, The HK produced sound well, but lacks customizing and sounds even worst outside the imediate stereo area. Hell, my computer Monsoon mm2000's sound 5 times better off the cheap built in sound card. I'm sure HK would sound great on different speakers, but in my situation, I have to have something for these. And HK, though dymanic, doesnt suit the sound.
I'm assuming the 1015 upon what i've read here being an elite clone, would produce better dynamics and power than the cheapo model I had, and the 5 band eq will help to custom to my needs. As an owner, would you concurr with this, do you think the 1015 would be a good choice, or do you think this would actually be a step down from the HK and perhaps I should look into looping an EQ (Assuming i can loop, assuming because i've got ins and outs for all 5.1, with the bar between, but would have to use 2 seperate matching eq's for front and rear channels, trying not to use seperate eq due to no room for additional seperates) Do you think the 1015 would produce a solid bass line, crisp highs, and subtle mids after eq adjustments to drive a low impedence (4 ohm - Monsoon fpf-1000's) planar ribbon setup.
Sorry for the long response, but as an owner, i think you'd have more imput to my select needs, also I hope you dont mine me posting this since it's so lengthy and can get more replies to my post??

It's an aged line of equipment that hasn't seen any updates in a few years.
