Hi Guys -

First off, I am by no means an expert to this sort of stuff, and this is why I need help.

I am looking to buy the Guns and Roses Greatest Hits songs. They have a DVD version of their Greatest Hits with their music videos, or the ReMastered version the cd.

Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Videos DVD
OR
Greatest Hits CD

Now my question is, which one is better quality? The reason why im confused is I read that DVD has 20 bit/??? Khz sampling, and cd's have 16 bit/44.1Khz sampling. The remastered version cd is more than likely 20 or 24 bit. So technically the DVD would offer Dolby digital Stereo and the cd Stereo, whatever this means, im not sure. Im not sure what dvds Khz sampling rate is, but im sure its higher than cd's. Overall, which one would offer better sound and musical enjoyment. Ive always noticed that music played in movies sound so much better, so im assuming the dvd version is better, but since the cd version is remastered to hight bits, maybe this is better.

I am so confused on this matter. Can someone chime in on this one.

From what i know, the remastered version of a cd, is the improved version on sound quality. Some people say that the average volume of the recording on remastered cd's is pushed ever higher at the expense of dynamic range.

All I can say on the subject is the Japanese SHM versions are not an improvement worth 29 bucks + shipping. I'm not bitter because I bought the entire catalog, or anything.

I have considered buying these versions in the past but have always had doubts about the quality. Thanks for the heads up.

Both are good on quality, IMHO...i would get any of them...the quality depends also on the sound setup you have.
