Guess what I saw at Best Buy?

It looks like they are moving right along with the Magnolia section. I saw a Pioneer Elite Plasma, a few boxes of different Definitive Techology speakers and a couple boxes of Boston Acoustics(could not determine what though). They still had the area shrouded in plastic though, but these three were blocking the entrance.

Surveyor,

I don't get up to Sherman very often, but If I do I'll let you know. I think we have Outlaw amps in common. I own five M-200s. You have a 770 if memory serves me. Is that right? What speakers are you running?

Do you guys have Magnolia stores separate at all? They were the west coast leg of Tweeter, but BB bought them. I've noticed the Magnolia trucks at BB a lot lately too...

Here in St. Louis they are putting one in at the Chesterfield Store, I can't wait to go check it out, just to see what they offer

Best Buy bought Magnolia back in 2000 when they only had like 13 total stores in 3 states: WA, CA, and OR, so the've expanded tremendously since then. Magnolia has never been here in Texas before, though we have had Tweeter for a number of years, and Ultimate which showed up in late 2001. Seems Ultimate is closing stores already so maybe they are in trouble.

Concerning Magnolia within BB though... It will be nice to have the option of higher-end equiptment and software selection all under the same roof.

Hopjohn,
I use: 4 ea. Infinity IL10 for surrounds and back , 1 ea. IL25c center and 2 ea. Precise Acoustics Monitor 10's for the front left and right speakers.
I have a Velodyne CT-150 subwoofer.
I have the Outlaw 770 Amp, and am using a Yamaha RX-V2200 for the Pre-Amp.
I think that using the M-200s as you do might be a better solution.

Sorry to take so long to reply. The Plano Best Buy off of 75 and Parker road. I was in there again today buying a video game and one of the salesmen let me know that it should be fully up and running in a week and a half to 2 weeks.

Same thing as any smaller store offers, minus the immediate reminder ten feet outside their door as to why not to buy from BB. :D

As usual, the issue isn't what they carry, it's how they apply it and if it's recommended accurately. Expertise is different than moving boxes in pretty surroundings. Ask Ultimate if you don't believe that!

Magnolia at my Best Buy

There has been a magnolia center up and running in my best buy for the past coupe months. They carry some nice stuff and the sales reps I have spoken with are very knowledgeable. Supreme A/V geeks thankfully. They carry Pioneer Elite and Dennon reveivers primarily. No high end Yamahas. Mid-range speakers. High-end televisions, cable solutions. They offer custom instalation and home theater planning in-store or in-home. Panamax power conditioners...... hmmm what else? That's about all I recall seeing in there.

I'm in souther Cali btw. Near San Diego county.

Best regards,

Eric
