Ground wire

Hello all - I'm new to the forum - trying to navigate. Have a question - hopefully someone can give a little insight on it. I have an HK AVR 20 - there is a black and white wire attached to the surface ground on the transformer via an eyelet and it plugs into the circuit board - can anyone tell me what this wire is - it also has what looks like a diode on the wire - any help is greatly appreciated. Without a service manual no one can help you. we would also need pictures.

That is a very old unit, and very unlikely to be serviceable.
