Hey guys,
So I was about to pull the trigger on a Samsung UN75HU8550FXZA but noticed the website said "8bit" instead of 10bit in the fineprint. I started reading up on differences. From what I'm reading, it seems that for blu-ray 1080p (and even upscaled to 4k) everything should be fine, but I'm getting mixed signals about streaming 4k from netflix and the eventual 4k/UHD blu-ray that will be launching this year. Apparently pretty much all 4k content is 10bit. Will I be able to watch true 4k on this TV if it's only 8bit?
If not, am I able to use a receiver that does support 10bit to push 10bit? What i had read seemed to suggest if the receiver can handle 10bit and the TV has HDMI 2.0 then that should solve the problem.
Can anyone verify?
Thanks.
