Here is a great video of Glen Kuykendall playing a vintage Stratocaster guitar and a Trainwreck amplifier. he was a Danny Gatton disciple, on of the great unknown guitarists of the 70s-90s. He sells a CD on EBay, all of it sounds much like that, all instrumental. Drums by Erin Conley.

Another amazing guitar solo - John Butler's Ocean at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VAkOhXIsI0. Not too long ago (November), I saw Butler in a venue in Baltimore and he did Ocean. In this dark, smoky, noisy, clanking beer bottle sort of place, people were halted in their tracks for about 10 minutes during this song. He epoxies his fingernails on his right hand and removes the second G string on his 12 string guitar so it is an 11 string. A backstage assistant brings him a freshly tuned guitar for each song. Anybody who has played a 12 string knows that it is no good for fast solo work, except Butler.
