That's what I bought two weeks ago. I love my URC-200 remote. Using the RF station, I can control my system anywhere in the house, through walls and all. Great remote for the price.

Apples and Oranges... almost too many differences to compare. Unless you're talking about a Harmony remote with RF capabilities, the least expensive of which costs $399.99

WOW! What a great deal. I bought one of these for a x-mas present for someone last year and it was around 2x the price, but got the MRF-100 for under $50. The RF capability with these two is very impressive.

That's a great find....for those without RF, get this package!!!! $89 for the whole thing. I couldn't live without RF once I got it. Once again, great find.

Urc-300

I picked up the URC-300 version last week with the base station for $102 shipped. It is similar to the URC-200 except it has a larger touch screen LCD and can control a few more devices.
I have it setup to control a few devices and it is working great. The Wife even likes it and knows how to use it! :D

Please excuse my ignorance, but does the base station just extend the functionality to other parts of your house, or is it a necessity?

The base station provides the RF functionality. You need it if you want to use RF and be able to control your components from around the house or without pointing directly at the components. The remote still works as IR if you don't have the base station.

Mine is arriving today :)

Looking forward to playing around with it and being able to control my system with just one remote!

Thanks for the heads up on it Clint. :D

Mbaylor,
In my application half of the A/V equipment will be inside a cabinet, so the base station and emmiters beam the signal to this equipment without requiring IR repeaters. I can also use the remote anywhere in the house due to the 100 foot RF range.
The remotes IR signal has a good range for gear that is within line of site.

Thank you jcPanny and MDS for the clarification. I think I may purchase this pair.

I need RF remotes for two different zones (patio and my family room, which are separated by 20 feet or so)-can two of these remote/base station combos coexist in the same house without interfering with each other? I think the answer is no, but I wanted to see if anyone here knew for sure. Also, does anyone have experience with RF remotes as potential interference sources for WiFi LANs, cordless phones or other wireless home systems? TIA.

Yes, you specify an ID number for the base station and additionally you can assign an ID on the remote for any or all devices. If one remote can control enough devices to cover both the family room and patio, you could use one remote and two base stations (each with a different ID).

You may have to go up to the 'Total Control Series' for that though. I know my MX-350 allows you to specify the IDs.

That is correct. The RF station for the URC-100, 200, 300 does not have the ID thing.
