I just recently reacquired an NAD 2600 monitor series that a friend was borrowing. After it slept under the bed for a few days, I started thinking. Hmmm, I disconnected my PDR 10's amp, Soldered some monster cable to the leads and routed them out the back through the port, then I flipped that monster into the bridged mode, 375 watts with 1200 watts dynamic power or 5db's headroom and hooked it to the sub. HOLY CRAP it sounds good. I can not believe how much more solid and thunderous the low end is now and not a touch of boomyness. I know it's not a fair comparison of a subs amp compared to any well made audiophile grade amp but the difference was amazing. I can't believe how hampered the Paradigms 10in woofer was by the amp they put in it. This thing just came to life with the NAD powering it.
The NAD gave my lowend some balls

Yesterday I had to see if the difference I was hearing was measurable so I got my avia test disk and my sound level meter and ran the 200 to 20 hz sweep. Before with the subs built in amp it would drop off around 27 hz and fall pretty quick. With the NAD connected it now is only about 6 db's down at 22hz. Not sure why this is but it sounds awesome. The thought did cross my mind about over extending the driver but so far even at pretty high levels I have not heard the woofer bottom out. Some stuff is down right scary.
