Now burning in... love that new smell... i must say, that for $975 (down from 2999 MSRP from onecall.com) it is a great sounding, great looking receiver. The only shortfall i can think of is the fact that since Boston got sold to the parent company that owns Denon, Marantz, Mcintosh etc and they pulled all of Bostons recievers/amps/pre's, there will be no further firmware updates. Weighing in at 60 lbs, hooked up to all polk (Rti8, rti4, fxi3, csi5, PSW505) it sounds awsome. Im upgrading the sub to an SVS cylinder or HSU HO. But, after having a pioneer 1014, denon 886, this one blows them away. I would have to pay twice as much to get something even close. The separates are still avail too, the 7 channel amp is a steal right now at 999 at onecall, i almost got that instead... anyway, this is one happy customer, i can listen to this smooth receiver for hours LOUD with no ear fatigue and no distortion... i luv it!

Awesome! Always good to hear someone satisfied with a recent purchase. Now, for the benefit of those who don't have one, hows about you snappin' a pic or two and postin' 'em up in this here forum? Share the joy. :D

YOUR WELCOME...Give credit where credit is due! You spent a grand on my testimony alone. I know what sounds good. It's so hard to be humble.

Drummer boy...I told you so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hah! :D I have about 30-40 hrs on mine(been busy) and it is sounding better with every hour that it is used. Talked to a friend who told me he left his turned on for a week. Day and night. Not playing source through it but just powered on for a week. He swears it sounds better. Mine still has that new smell when warmed up. As far as updates are concerned, we should be able to get them from Sherwood Newcastle. Our recvr is a Sherwood 965 with a little different fascia and branded Boston in case you did not know. You knew that...right? I told you 2 weeks ago prior to your decision to purchase the BA7120 and sent you a link to the 965 review/bench test. The seperates? nah...the pre/pro of our 7120's is same as stand alone pre/pro. Same. The power amp is a little different having dual transformers and ability to drive lower imp loads. Think I'll enjoy my $3g recv'r and spend money on college loans rather than add more components which means more cables, space, etc.

Now, ready for another upgrade????? Save every penny you can and ditch the Polks. Buy some B&W's. Which models? at least the nautilus series. 805's(bookshelves)will blow away most floorstanding models! To expensive? try the rocket/onix. Super bang for buck as well as athena items. I use BA VR's(audio/video) and pair of B&W's(audio). I think polks were best about 20 years ago.
