Jamie,

What do you prefer about Chrome over previous browsers?

Can it exist side-by-side with Mozilla, or another browser, or does it replace the old one?

Any downside to it you have found yet?

Thanks,

I've tried Firefox, and Opera, but I still prefer IE for some reason. I'd switch to something else if it were better, but I haven't tried chrome yet.

It's faster than all of the other browsers, and it's very simple, so you don't have to worry about a bunch of extra crap getting in your face.

I use it side by side with Firefox. I use Chrome for browsing, and Firefox for my FTP and whatnot.

I tried it, but I still prefer Firefox for most of my browsing. I use Chrome as my alternate browser.

Took the words out of my mouth.
I mean Chrome is nice, But firefox just feels more right, even if it is a bit slower.

I used to be a huge Oprea fan, Netscape before that.

I use Chrome at work for Lucidchart because it runs well off a flash drive and I am not allowed to install Firefox.

If Chrome or Opera supported add-ons and plug-ins like Firefox I would consider it as my main browser.

But flashing banners, pop-ups, pop-unders, highlighted text roll-overs, animated flash, ads... etc. have ruined any chance of ever having an enjoyable browsing experience.

All these are things of the past with Firefox and the right set of plug-ins.

I used to have firefox on three very different pcs.
Lately I begun to notice big slowdowns and huge memory consumption from ff, especially after opening several tabs.
Since I switched to chrome, it's feels much faster, I don't get killed with huge resource hug as FF.
I made the switch right after Chrome ver 4 - it enabled extensions. There some I can't live w/o - like AdBlock and Mouse gestures.
There plenty of other very good ones as Google voice etc...

I've been using FF for the past couple of years. I finally switched over to Chrome when they added extensions back in beta a couple months ago. I can't live without adblock any longer! FF and Chrome are great. Chrome seems to be a little quicker and cleaner for me.

FIREFOX died on me. idk why

so i switched to chrome. it is working pretty well, and i have a new skin for it.

1 problem though = when i hit the "back" button. it returns to the top of the last page . not where i was on that page :(. if i am at the bottom of a long page = scrolling :mad:ness.

does anyone know how to fix this ? thanx

I have never heard of a browser dying. Have you done a virus scan with something other than Norton? If that doesn't fix it, contact Firefox.

I have Firefox, Chrome and Safari, but Safari is by far the fastest on my machine. I keep playing with the others though. The one thing I hate about Safari though is the lack of themes. Of course, customization is or lack thereof is nothing new for apple:mad:

The latest chrome though is pretty close to Safari in speed. It's close.

Here they both are on mine. You can see they are both fast but Safari beats it a little. It is close though. I emptied both caches before starting. Double click on the movie to start it click once to pause. The play and pause buttons dont work right. Must be a glitch in iweb or I did something wrong. I do like google chrome on the mac though. It really does give safari a run for its money and is customizable too.

I want to modify my last statement- I haven't seen problems with browsers that aren't Internet Exploder. I wanted to throw my desktop out the window because of the problems and once I found FireFox, it's all rainbows and moonbeams. And bacon. I like bacon.

Your darn tootin. IE has sucked for a long time on any platform. Microsoft should just give up on the browser.
