I saw the posting about greatest guitarists of all time and didnt want to hijack the thread. If you've got a couple of minutes, check out this link and download a few songs (listed on the website in two minute clips). Thats a bummer as most of the REAL guiter work is later in the songs, but worth checking out. Also read a little on the page about the artist and some of the reviews...GOOD STUFF!! Not even in the same realm as those mentioned on the other thread, but thought you blues guitarists could appreciate good blues guitar.

My favorites are:

Little Wing
Hey Joe
Need Your Love so Bad

dont worry...a safe site for downloads

Mr. Lamb, being into the blues I did check out Matthew Cadillac Cooper (which I really like, btw) and bought the CD along with three 5 buck 'specials' from CDBaby...

Blues Attitude - 'Show Time Groove'
Hoodoo Cats - 'It's Hoodoo Time'
and Just Got Lucky - 'All Over Town'

Man, this is some really good stuff and I couldn't believe just how quick the four CD order was in my mailbox.

You were right, Matthew Cadillac is well worth checking out and CDBaby is a very good site. Thanks for sharing!

Ax man-Thanks for the bringing this back to life, I had given up on this post! I thought people were a little weary about downloading music clips from unknown sites. What did you think of the full versions of the three songs, Little Wing, Hey Joe, Need Your Love so Bad? All the tracks were laid down in one take...no studio tricks, voice overs, replays, etc...Just the band in a studio JAMMIN!!!

I should have stated on my post that Matt is my brother. He has been playing for about 25 years and still plays out a couple of times a week at a blues bar in Shanghai. A little while ago his band, "City Chicken", headlined a blues festival in Beijing, that had about 10,000 people in attendence (I know it sounds wierd..."blues festival in China")...Pretty cool nonetheless!!

Thats great you that you like the CD. My intention from the post was to share a few minutes of different songs...not to solicit sales. Thats cool you liked the music clips enough to order something! I will check out the ones you suggested as well.

I listened to this guy, too, and like it a lot. Being a major blues fan, I must say that the best blues experience, IMHO, is almost always LIVE! I've seen many blues artists that were knockouts in a live performance, but when I got home with their recordings, I was usually disappointed. Guess it's that way with a lot of musicians these days. Thanks for the heads up!

Mr. Fries...thanks for the head turn. Your brother is pretty darn good. Little Wing happens to be one of my favorite pieces. I've heard a few renditions of ol' SRV's lovely number. Matt's take on the song is delightful. I just may order this cd.

By the way, CDBaby is no unknown website. It's pretty well known for Indie artists of all stripes, and a great site for anyone who likes music to visit regularly. Miles of Music would be another.

I know what you mean...studio is usually disappointing to me as well. Studio seems too smooth for blues (along with many other music types). There are to many studio tricks, tweaks, and adjustments to try and sell the artists...not the music. Also with certain genres, Live seems to add SOOOO much to the music. The raw sound and passion from the artist IS part of the music. That is why I mentioned the tracks were taken in one take, with no tricks. He is still much better live, but this disc is still pretty good for some jammin!

RJBudz...CD Baby is a good website, some might not have heard of it before, and with so many scams out there, I was adding a little reasurance (not that it would mean anything). Thanks for the testimonial!

Glad you like it
Greg
