It's been a tough year of loss for so many of the musicians we love, especially those that grew up in the 80s and revered them as icons. Yet, I know it’s ridiculous to blame the arbitrary goal posts in time we call a year for the loss of the many beloved celebrities gone in 2016. I’m certain our perception of 2016 is skewed, yet I can't help but be glad to see an end to this year. Rest in peace 2016. And good riddance.

Very nice article Wayde. It's a significant point that it's not that more celebrities died this year, but that they were celebrities that people of our generation, kids from the 70s and 80s, grew up with, so it is more meaningful to us than celebrities who were popular before our time. I think we can expect more of this as the years go by.

Thank you, Shady. Sadly, I have no doubt there will be more of such years, but hopefully not until our favourite artists have lived to ripe old ages.

Great article! Yes, Bowie was way
ahead of his time. Love all of his music. I think it was some time in the 90's when I heard a radio DJ say that he was coming out with his own line of walpaper. What a trip! Was not fully aware of just how many musical Icons were lost in 2016. Quite sad
indeed...
