Good wall plate binding posts...

From the reading I've done most people seem to agree that using wall plates to terminate in-wall speaker wire is perfectly fine. So, now that I know how I'm going to terminate my wiring, I'm looking for some high quality binding posts.

I found some Leviton binding posts that snap into the universal wall plates which use a set screw on the back side to hold the wire in. This seems ok, but the screw was tiny. It looks like it would just split a beefy wire in two.

The weak point on all the wall plate binding posts seems to be the connection on the back side. They all seem flimsy to me.

Can anybody recommend a really good wall plate binding post? I only need four sets, so price isn't a big issue unless they are outrageous.

Hi. I bought mine at Parts Express (example here) and am very happy with them. The ones at Monoprice (example here) are less expensive and appear to be the same thing as what I got (but they didn't sell them back when I bought mine).

My experience is exactly the same as Adam's. The PartsExpress wall plates have binding posts on both the front and back so you could even use banana plugs on the in-wall side if you wanted to (but I just use bare ware on the in-wall side).

I like the Leviton ethernet jacks but also don't care for their speaker wall plates because of the tiny little set screw.
