Good track to test bass SPL

HI All - I am going to experiment with different placements of my SVS sub in my theater. Ideally I want to test the loudness in each of the three seating positions to see which sub position is the best / most consistent. Is there a test track that I could use on youtube, whether a steady bass tone or a good song where the bass is consistently the same loudness? Thanks

I would use a pink noise, not a piece of music. Music mostly only have bass content in certain frequency ranges. Pink noise spreads its energy over the entire bass spectrum. But if you really want to know the best place for the sub, the thing to do is take measurements instead of playing it by ear.

The Telarc 1812 recording was digitally recorded. The cannons are period and recorded near them.
Windows were blown out nearby during that recording session. The cannon shots are towards the end of that long performance. Just be very careful you don't blow anything out. ;)
That should do it.

What frequencies are tested with these? How about the cannon fire in the dvd of Master and Commander?

Tom Nousaine indicated it had subharmonic content to 5 Hz.
But, it will certainly exercise the subs in volume if he empowers the receiver to send to the sub with a CD.
I never used a spectrum analyzer which frequency had the most umph. ;)
But, it can rattle things. One must be careful with this cd level.
