I watch Netflix for everything pretty much. I don't even watch network tv anymore outside of sporting events.

I'm one step away from cutting of DVR service and family package channels
Will keep only basic stuff for news and internet. I can get all my content thru internet

Just do it. You really won't miss it and you'll have like 100 bucks to spend on anything you want. Netflix has plenty of kids shows and Hulu shows most of the new stuff. The only issue is sports, but honestly I love not having that bill. You could always try a dry run and see how it goes.

DVR is nice to rewind and pause I do use all the time, but honestly I could easily get by without or if really wanted to, I'd build wmc/ceton system
and I don't do sports

I really don't mind the "cable", but I hate having to pay for channels you never watch or never ever use There has got to be a way for these cable providers to just charge you by channel usage or a list of favorites you always use. I really have no need for Latin, BET, shopping channels and worthless music channels etc.. etc.. And since the cable industry is NOT regulated like a telco they can charge and do anything they want whether its the cable, internet of the phone ( triple play). Like a bunch of outlaws running wide.

Just recently I got this letter from TWC. since the day they offered internet service the modem was free NOW they are going to charge you $3.95 per month to lease the modem, or you can purchase an approved modem.
