Good quality and flexible speaker stands

While this may seem as a stupid thread, I wanted to know where I could find the best bang for the buck in terms of speaker stands.

I recently went to the svs website, and they were selling stands for $54 a pair and it seemed to have a good design feautre. However, my options are limited to online-buying but I really don't want to spend hundreds on speaker stands(buyinh 7 would add up).

A LOT of places sell stands, but some of them look cheap or don't support the 15lbs or more that I need.

Advice welcomed, also I would like style and some discreetness, ie if I put wires underneath the carpet so family doesn't mind. I have done a lot of searching on the web but can't seem to know which one to pick out in a maze of various websites and manufactures:confused: ,

They seem a little on the expensive side

Hi, I wanted to know if you personally bought products from them, they seem to be a little on the expensive side:eek: . I know svs sells their pair of stands for $54, keep in mind that I need to buy 7 of these stands, maybe 5 may do, and maybe I could put the center channel somewhere, but to play safe I may need 7.

Thing is I do want quality speaker stands, which do ones do you think would pass the wife approval factor(rather mother for some)

On the svs website it mentions something about acoustics feature from using mini-rubber pads.

Check Parts Express .com Part number 240-742 24" Medium mass metal stands. I've owned a few pairs of them and I currently still use the high mass ones for my 38lb mains. I've seen the SVS stands and they were not quite as stable as I would like, even with just the SBS-01 speakers on them. Not a problem if you don't have pets or kids, but I still like a very stable stand ever since the cable guy knocked one of my speakers over onto his head (no injury, but could have been). I haven't found any that were better for the price. The pics don't really do them justice - they are much nicer looking in person.

Thanks, I was just about to buy the SVS stands

Hey, thanks for telling me about the svs stands not being stable, do you personally think 24 inches is high enough.

I STILL NEED ADVICE THOUGH

I was juat about to buy the svs stands (made by savvuss) from another website - where I could get 8 of them for only $150- free shipping.

Thing is I wonder how much Parts express will charge for shipping, in any case do you know any other reliabnle brands/modules.

Update: It seems those daytons are very expensive, however amazon.com usually has free shipping on speaker stands.

Comments welcome Please

I have used these in the past. You can google for Wood Technology Speaker Stands and find that several people sell them.

I have a pair of their Furniture Grade hardwood Series for the rears in my computer room. They look very nice.

A little pricey

I can't believe it would cost me 500-1000 for good quality speaker stands, I know certain places have free shipping with their stands, ie amazon.com.

Is this normal or what?, are the sannus stands "cheap quality", I can get 8 of them for $150 with free shipping by looking over the Internet.

It seems as if the dayton is a good deal, but do you think 24 inches is tall enough for most small living rooms, I see the parts express stands you mentioned at amazon.com

Any competantly built platform style stand can support 25lb speakers....even the $40 Studio RTA pair I use (don't buy the wood Studio RTA...I have those, and they suck...way too much vibration, as well as one of the pieces cracked when I assembled them).

That said, the P-E stands are also a stand I am considering myself....unless of course I can find some south american rosewood stands to match my new speakers :D

edit: and determine height based on the speakers you own, and how many inches from the floor your ears are when seated. You want the tweeter at or slightly below ear level. I go for 2-3" below myself.

Where do i buy these stands

Well I haven't completely ruled out stands yet, but for 40$ a pair where did you get these?

Wall mounting- the omnimount's seem cheaper, I mean why spend hundreds of dollars of stands when you can buy more ht equipment when I can use wall mounts.

I do like stands though because then I don't have to get the in-wall - or white speaker wire to match paint, because I can hide the wire under carpet.
