i want the dual 15's though becuause they have more speaker to push and they would go louder if i were to get a single 15 i would go buy an e-715 but i would immagine my amp would be too much power for that besause ive seen a 100 watt amp push them very nicly and i am runnin a 550 x 2 @ 8 ohms amp

Cerwin tweeters usually have reset protection. I know mine do. Let me look.

I had a pair of Vega's back in the 80's that weighed about 75 pounds each I was pumping about 500w each, the company said they would garrenty that I couldn't blow them up. I tryed but never did, I could drowned out a live concert lol The best power speakers on the market. in my humble opinion:D

My Cerwins still have the tags on the back stamped 1985. I am the original owner. The 12" woofer foam has rotted. Gonna send them back to Cerwin. It's cool they offer repair.;)

That amp is 450x2 at .1% thd. Cut that thd figure in half, and it could drop another hundred watts. Those dual 15" Cerwins will handle one of those amps...each.

Don't lose your hearing. ;)

This doesnt have to do with home speakers but back around 1980 I had a friend that was in a band and he wanted to get a new amp so we went to the music store and the salesman there recommended some new Cerwin
Vegas. My friend was worried that they couldnt handle what he wanted them for and this saleman said WATCH THIS
He took two wires that were cut from an extension cord and hooked them to the speaker in the amp and plugged it into a wall socket. It was one of the worst and loudest sounds Ive ever heard but when he pulled the plug and plugged his guitar into it was fine. I was impressed.
I now have a set of Vegas from around 81, and other that having them refoamed they have been perfect.Mine are the U 15s

Don't do that! Run the correct fuse, or you will be going out to get new speakers.

I have only blown 1 fuse since 1985.

Make sure your speaker wire is at least 12AWG. I wouldn't run any smaller wire(14,16...), no matter what anyone says.
