good deal??????

im on a new search for new speakers mainly for ht, someone on graigslist near me has paradigm monitor 90p, adp 170 surronds,and cc370 center. says their a few years old and paid 2600 for them and is asking 1000 for all. is that sound like a decent deal? of course ima want to hear them first

If they are in good shape that's a pretty good deal. The 90P's were a powered speaker and when/if they go up for sale they are usually $700 or so just for them. So if you use that the other 3 speakers are only costing you a $100 a piece.

That's a lot of speaker for a grand.

If somebody who knows speakers sees that ad, you better run, not walk to get them. That's an excellent deal if they are in good shape and they are still there when you go get 'em.

well ad says excellent condition, but, they just sent me some pics, one of the 90p 6.5 dustcaps looks like someone put 3 fingers on it and squezzed, and one of the 8's has a pushed in dustcap and missing a paradigm logo on bottom. one of the grilles looks broke in the middle. the grill for cc looks kinda messed up on top like the fabric came loose but not to bad. and they look to have some corner edge dents scratches. im probably not going to be able to hear them either(not a good thing for me, if ima spend that much i wana hear them).

By the sellers own description he of course prolly thinks thats what excellent condition should be looking like, thank goodness a true holic knows the difference.

And yes Rocks woulda been on the smokers menu, LOL.

i really want these speakers but i think ima prob pass on them. bad thing is not many dealers in my area(2). and 1 is so overpriced its funny, other 1 is not bad but dosent have much in stock, mostly in walls, but would order for me but i like to hear things first, even though will sound much different in my living room. only thing else i have is BB. although i am thinking of taking a chance on ordering some online what would you guys rec. for around a grand. i want L/C/R. have a yama 465 for avr. thanks for suggestions.
