I ordered a 5.1 Klipsch Rsx-3/Rcx-3 ($168)should be here monday, and today I got a Denon AVR-2805 ($250) best buy clerance very stoked but I picked it up without the manual, setup mic($60),and I got a remote for the AVR 2106.The remote is different enough that I can't seem to setup with the rc-1015 through the Denon site manual,do I need the right remote or is there a way to get it running for now with some 6ohm sharp speakers at B/RF/LF just to get some tunes for now.The test tone works.

If you can calibrate it properly from the component screen you can do it manually without the mic. Need an spl meter though, analog from Radio Shack will do.

I can do everything with the front panel controls that I can with the remote. There has to be a ton of those blue foil remotes for auction at Ebay from the 3805. That will run every function on your AVR, and then some. I wouldn't waste time with the setup mic. It's not that accurate. Get a tape measure, and tweak it yourself with a good cd. You can also get an older model Harmony that will control that unit for under $40.

You may even call Denon directly and see if they'll sell you (or give you) one of the older black foil remotes from the first 3805's. They were hard to see in daylight, and exchanged a ton of them for the more modern blue foil remotes. It's an awesome remote - it just kills batteries since it's touch sensitive and the entire remote is LED.

I called Magnolia and got the right remote, mic, manual, its running fine on two cheap sharps and a gmx sub.The setup mic was helpful just to get familiar with the receiver but I've been playing around with it for a day and manual is the way to go and have no more need for it.
