I am looking for some good replacement 6" circular, waterproof speakers for my hot tub. I have a killer system in there but the 6" holes already exist. Any ideas?

Thanx:)

Do they need to be full range speakers (IE all the way up to 20khz)? Will they be facing the full force of mother nature or are they somewhat protected.

www.partexpress.com might have something, but you best bet would be to play doctor with a pair of outdoor speakers and take those drivers...?:)

Waterproof? Are they going to be submerged or is that a possibility?

Outdoor speakers are not waterproof, only water resistant. I am not sure you are going to find waterproof speakers very easily. Another option is marine speakers, but they are likely only water resistant as well.

I want to add something. What do you mean by hottub system. Is it a hot tub with speakers built in(yes I have seen these), or speaker near your hot tub.

Either way, getting a pair of outdoor speakers would probably have a better sound IMO.

Abosolutely, but they cannot be submerged ie: "IN" the hot tub.

water resistant really

what I really need is water/weather resistant..... I have found some extremely expensive speakers that can be totally submerged or even float on/in the tub. I have also looked at some marine speakers but the sound quality is typically poor. Someone mentioned Polk has a line of marine certified speakers which I am looking into now

marine speakers

looking at them more closely (with tape measure in hand) it is actually 6.5 inches................

I use some audiosource speakers that are supercheap but sound VERY good for the money. I think you are going to have trouble finding just a driver, unless you go marine. I agree, they generally do sound quite crappy.
