Hi there,

I am a new member to this informative forum. I wanted to get some more info on the new Goldenear AON2 bookshelf speakers. I had mostly used klipsch and energy speakers, and was looking to build a 5.1 speaker system. How are the Goldenear speakers compared to the Klipsch, and would the Goldenear new AON 2/3 bookshelf speakers be a good choice?

Regards,

Marc

I have Goldenear Aon 3s front, Supersat 50c center channel, and Supersat 3 surrounds.

I auditioned both the Aon 2s and 3s. There was quite a bit of difference between them. The 3s sound a lot richer and fuller. If you are planning on running without a subwoofer then the 3s are definitely the way to go. I can't comment on the sound of these speakers with a subwoofer (yet). If you are going to use them with a subwoofer make sure you audition them that way.

I managed to pick all of my speakers up as demos from a local store. I got them for 40% off MSRP. I really like them.

I haven't listened to Klipsch speakers in quite a while so I can't really compare them for you. I wish I could be more helpful. My only advice to you is to audition them, preferably in-home.

I've been looking for some "bookshelf" speakers myself. While I didn't listen to them in the same room, I had the chance to listen to both the Aon 2 and Paradigm Studio 10. Both sound very good for speakers their size. I'm leaning toward the Paradigms for the wood venier, but will be checking them both out again.
