Man, I love college football, and will have a hard time waiting until fall to enjoy it.

What an outstanding game. Two thumbs up for Texas. Vince Young is the man, and has probably earned himself an extra 5 million in the NFL for that outstanding performance.

My Goodness
How in the world could you not love that! Well if you were a USC fan that paid $1000 a ticket to see your team that already won it all not win.
It’s bigger than you think boys; Texas came to our home and took it from us
Where was the media hyped draft picks? Can you say SPANK!
Seriously they have a great future in the NFL but even I became a Texas fan tonight:D

First the papa wins last night and then this I love this game!

Gotta say - I could care less about college football.

But, I watched that last quarter in HD and it was well worth it. Didn't really have anyone to root for - but 8 points on the board with 19 seconds left is amazing to see.

That game was really a comedy of errors. I guess it was a good game because the score was close, but the execution of the defense for both teams was horrible. I'm probably way too picky, but when you know the X's and O's of the game, it was pretty frustrating to watch USC give that game away. Pete Carroll is supposed to be a NFL level defensive coordinator. He either can't coach or his players don't do their jobs on defense. I guess when you're used to scoring 50 points every game, it doesn't matter how well the defense executes.

Does anyone else think that Vince Young is a poor man's Michael Vick? He's not as fast and his throwing mechanics are worse - and we all know how poorly rated Vick is as a passer. I think Young will struggle as an NFL quarterback unless he really works on his mechanics (he won't though, because he already thinks he's a god).

And then there's Keith Jackson. I've never wanted to reach through a TV a shake a person as badly as I did last night. Why do networks keep these fossils around to announce football games? Please somebody tell me!! It's like D*ck Clark trying to count backwards from 10. When you can't do this anymore, it's a sign that it's time to take the microphone away.

OK, I'm done complaining.

I don't see VY as a poor man's Vick. He's bigger, a more accurate passer and simply runs better. Vick is spastic when he runs, Vince looks like a RB. I think Vince will be fine in the NFL. He just has that "it" that 99% of the other players don't have. The "it" goes a long way. Sure he has bad throwing mechanics but he has a better arm than most give him credit for and is above average in the accuracy department. Who cares how he throws, he get's it done. Period. Those of us who are big Texas fans never had any doubts Texas would win. Even at the 6 minute mark.

Now, Keith Jackson? He needed to be put out to pasture years ago. He was completely lost at some points. He missed called plays all night. He called a down the middle field goal WIDE! A few seconds later after Dan probably kicked him he said softly, Good. And that's just one example. Dan made a somewhat long statement and then a question to Jackson at one point and Jackson mumbled and actually said, I don't know in a sad mind has left me kind of way. I actually felt bad for the guy. My wife who knows zilch about sports even commented about Jackson.

Shinerman, still recovering from a late night of football and of course, some Shiner Bock!

Young vs. Vick

You must be a true Texas fan if you say Vince Young is a better passer(haha) and a better runner(more haha) than Michael Vick. NFL QB's are about passing not running. Where is Kordell Stewart now? Vick is not in the playoffs and he still cant read defenses. Vince Young is one of the best college QB's ever but the NFL is a different league.

College football bigger than Canadian hockey???

Interesting news from Yahoo...

A record 35.6 million TV viewers tuned in to see the University of Texas narrowly defeat the University of Southern California in the Rose Bowl college football championship game, Nielsen Media Research reported on Thursday.

This year's Rose Bowl also compared favorably to other high-profile sporting events, yielding higher numbers than any World Series baseball championship game since 2001. And it was the most-watched football game -- college or professional -- during the past 15 years on ABC.

Some of you guys are just a bit too analytical. It was a great football game, with two enormously talented offenses, able to overwhelm any college defense. Well played, fun to watch.

Vick is not in the playoffs and he still cant read

This might be true, but neither can most of the college players. They're not there for an education, you know. ;) ~JC~

Well said, I have a class with some Oklahoma State football players who consistintly come in late and do nothing yet somehow make A's. Vick, im pretty shure he had more passes with a better pass percentage then USC's quarderback and if you look at his percentages fo the whole season they are pretty good. Honestly im just happy to see all the OU fans gripe, geez they hate Texas and the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
