Go with Component or hold out for DVI/HDMI?

I have a Pioneer 79avi connected directly to a Optoma H79. The picture is stunning. For the sake of integration I'm considering running the video through a not yet acquired AV preamp. I notice very few offer HDMI I/O. Is component good enough if I add this additional connection to the setup or should I hold out for an HDMI preamp? Thanks in advance for your comments. dave

You can always run the DVD video DVI/HDMI directly to the TV, bypassing a receiver.
Send other video through the receiver, games, etc.
