Gigaworks s750 for my pc sound system?

Lately I have been thinking of pairing a Gigaworks s750 sound system if I can get it for $300 for my computer on a temporary basis.

I am still leaning on using my svs sbs-01 and pc plus 500w sub though. The trouble is the need to hook up a bulky receiver and wall mount the sbs-01, even though I have the necessary stereo to rca and 3.5mm to rca 4 pole composite cables to do that.

I currently have a high end creative x-fi elite pro which is almost an audiophile card(if it isn't) with the same components used as recording musicians.

Any thoughts on this 7.1 system

I'll give you a couple links

I note the 1 inch tweeter and 3 inch midrange driver seems to be properly constructed atleast as they say here.

The Paradigm cinema and studio speakers seem better though, its funny that you can actually hook them up to the gigaworks s750's subwoofer http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,1751316,00.asp

Since I would be listening near-field, would anyone advist me to change from the svs sbs-01 and my massive cylinder
pc-plus subwoofer which seems overkill- although the cylinder can fit in nicely in corners?

Trouble is I can't buy the paradigms online and am not the type to go down to a dealer, any alternatives? I was thinking of the Audioengine 5
but its only sold in 2 speakers each and only has 3.5mm stereo inputs for 2 speakers that you can't detach, I need a subwoofer and 3.5mm 4 pole to rca cables wouldn't work with them.
