Blackalicious is really how I was introduced to Gift's music. Here's a few cuts that have always stood out to me and perhaps define what I think of as Conscious Rap... but much more.

Ha. Funny that you've got Black Thought there... easily one of the very best, upper echelon MCs on the scene... Can't help but wonder if they were clownin' him back stage. :p He held it together, though. :)

Yeah Tariq's definitely got some history in the genre. I'm just not that into the genre....why I could watch the video even more than once and not recognize Blackalicious, as the genre doesn't usually get me to buy anything in general.....
