Getting $500 for my anniversary

So, I now get the receive a $500 gift from my employer. It cannot be accepted as cash, gift card or vacation reservations.

My intentions was to get a budget projector (like an Acer H5360), but after really consider I maybe moving soon. I think I will just pass on the PJ as I already have a 50" plasma that I use and really do-not watch much TV. Sad, I know.


As for the other two items I have in mind that I would like, I can considering a new wheel-set for my mountain bike. The wheel set will be a little bit over the $500 mark, but I am willing to pay the additional cost (no biggie)
This consist of
Stans Flow (white) with DT Swiss Competition spokes 14/15 gauge (black)
DT Swiss alloy nipples 14 gauge, 2.0mm (Blue)
3 cross lace pattern on both front and rear wheels.
The Hubs I want to purchase are the Hope Pro II (in Blue).


and if I decided not to get that, my next gift I was considering is a Glock 40. I already have a Bersa .380 and I am not a happy shooter and already own a hand gun and 3 other high power rifles.

So I will post it here and see what my Audioholic bro's would think be best.

Just a thought: buying a gun with money offered by your employer could possibly open up some trouble if, in the future, the gun is stolen and used for murder.

I could be wrong, but that's just the first thing that came to mind when reading your post.

I personally would go with the wheel set for the mountain bike, as you would probably get the most enjoyment (and exercise) out of it.

ALSO, nicer bikes are one of the things that I have found to retain resell value.

Guns or bikes? Guns or bikes? I must say that even though I'm good without either I would get the gun. I might need to shoot somebody one day but there's no way I'm ever going to need to ride a bike. I have a car.

Man, if you had of told me this a month ago, I know a guy that had a set of ZTR Podium's laced to Chris Kings for $600 and they were in "new" condition.
