Gefen TV 1080P Scaler

Wondering if anyone on here has one? If so what do you think? Haven't been able to find many reviews anywhere.

I am trying to upscale SD channels from Comcast Cable (HD DVR Box). Connection is as follows:

- Out of DVR Box via HDMI
- Into Gefen TV 1080P Scaler
- Out of Scaler into Pioneer VSX-91TXH Receiver via HDMI
- Out of Receiver into Samsung DLP.

How about out of DVR Box via HDMI --> into your receiver via HDMI (provided you can shut off any video processing that the receiver does) --> into scaler --> into dlp ?

I am open for any possible solution. Really wanted to know if anyone owns one to find out how good/bad it works.

Hooking the scaler up after the receiver might not work because on of my inputs via HDMI is a PS3 which already scales SD DVD and of course plays Blu-ray.

Mainly I am looking to upscale SD TV from my cable provider. A particular show is not broadcast in HD. I understand the scaler isn't going to be as good as True HD but it should be better than SD, hopefully.
