I am setting up a new home system and am learning about HDMI.
I am considering a Gefen 4x4 HDMI switch for the following setup. Much of the equipment will be new since I haven't joined the HD world yet.
INPUTS - 1 Scientific Atlanta 8300HD, another Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD, a DVD player with HDMI output, and a PC with HDMI output.
OUTPUTS - 3 HDTV's to be determined (will have HDMI inputs) and 1 PC with HDMI input (I'm assuming that exists, haven't checked yet)
Here are my initial questions:
Can I watch programming from the SA 8300 HD's or from a DVD on all 3 HDTV's simultaneously. Does HDCP limit my ability to do that?
Can I hear music and see the visualizer from itunes via HDMI output on the 3 HDTV's?
Once the signal gets to each of the 3 HDTV's, how does the audio "get out"? Can the HDTV's have an HDMI out to a receiver?
Is the audio that comes from either the SA 8300's or the computer "synchronized" when is comes out of the 3 HDTV's and and receiver attached to them? (i.e. if an itunes song is playing in three rooms on each HDTV/receiver combo, will it all be synchronized?)
Thank you!
