I am having the builder of my new home wire for surround speakers in twoo rooms.What gauge wire should I use? does the brand of wire rerally matter for surrounds? please advise thank you

I would use no less than 14awg for everything, 12awg if the runs are long.

Inwall speaker wire

In wall CL2 rated speaker wire like the Belden 5100UP or UE will work great. If these speakers are part of a "whole house sysem" then wire for a volume control in each room.
