Gauge/type of speaker cable?

are there any favorites on this site? i will be using monitor audio BR5's as mains in a HT/music setup (70/30 respectively) and was wondering what gauge cable should i use.

Very good info, IMO. It recommends speaker gauge as a function of cable length and speaker impedance.

If you dont feel like reading the very good advice from the page Adam posted, you are almost always safe going with 12AWG. Blue Jeans Cable and Mono Price has good cable at a good price. I have also used the Dayton speaker wire from Parts Express and it is good.

I have been searching for some wire that looks good (and I like big stuff) for a couple of months now. I finally found what I was looking for and it was delivered yesterday. It is from Best Deals Cable and it is very well constructed with nice terminations.

I agree with what the others said, but the main concern here is not what speakers you're using, but the length of cable needed to join them to your system. 12 gauge is great, but it may be needless overkill in many situations. The Roger Russell site should shed some light that subject.

You can buy those here at Audioholics. They are good cables, I just dont like the color.
