what gauge speaker wire is included in JBL HTIB's?

I was doing an A/B test last night using the included speaker wires from JBL HTIB and a pair of 14 gauge speaker wires. I was ready to declare a winner when I curiously switched the wires between them and listened again ... the winner I think promptly switched. therefore, the A/B listening last night was void and I have to listen again tonight with a LOT of combinations. listening more thoroughly with the switched wires, both 14 gauge, just the left channels using the 14 gauge ...

the JBL wire I was using was more likely 20' in length (or a max of 40')
the 14 gauge I was using was only 10' in length.

As long as the AWG is correct for the distance and impedance of the speaker, it will work fine.

Most HTiBs include that ~18 AWG red/black AFAIK. So if the speakers are 8 Ohm, 18 AWG should technically work and you may not hear any real difference at all. It is when you use a wire that is too small for the impedance or distance that you may get audible effects.

that's what I thought too ... that's why I did not hesitate to use the JBL wires, because I was too lazy to setup another pair of wires.

apparently, the 6 ohm MA's could be more adversely affected by the thin wire gauge. OR the JBL wires are much smaller than 18 gauge. I don't have a caliper at home which is why I cant measure the diameter of the wire.

i measured the wires at home and it was indeed 1mm in diameter (gauge 18 - you're right)

i stil haven't had the time to listen again with the switched wires ... i'll update soon
